Spandau 04, the runner-up in the previous season, started with a huge 22:4 win over Ludwigsburg. Title-holder Waspo 98 Hannover didn’t play last weekend. Its game against OSC has been scheduled for November.

Ludwigsburg was 4th in the last season. Ten days ago, the club played in the LEN Euro Cup Round 1. It didn’t manage to qualify for the next round, but it had some good moments at the tournament in Thessaloniki. Therefore, Ludwigsburg’s fans hoped that the favorite from Berlin wouldn’t record an easy win. But, Spandau was too strong for Ludwigsburg. Member of the Italian national team Luca Marziali, the first-ever Italian to play for Spandau, debuted with six goals, while Russian Dmitri Kholod added five. Besides Marziali, two players – Bilal Gbadamassi and Roman Shepelev – and head coach Athanasios Kechagias debuted for Spandau in this game.
ASC Duisburg had ups and downs in the match against Esslingen, but it earned a comfortable victory.
White Sharks Hannover’s defense was superb in the first two quarters of the game against Neukolln. The team from Hannover scored ten unanswered goals in the first half and secured the points.
