The second phase of the German League has started .
Four teams (the top two from each group of the 1st phase), compete in the group for the title. After two tournaments, the playoffs will be played.
The first tournament was held in Berlin last weekend. The highlight was a big derby – the encounter between Spandau 04 and Waspo Hannover. Spandau took points in the first duel of the best two German clubs in this season– 8:7.

There were no thrilling matches in the first two rounds of the tournament in Berlin. Spandau and Waspo recorded easy wins.
Spandau and Waspo faced off in the big game of Round 3. The match was an even contest. Hannover started better and earned a 4:2 lead in the middle of the second quarter. For the first and the last time, the difference was two goals, but not for long. The hosts equalized by the end of the first half – 4:4.
Spandau extended its series of goals in the first minute of the third quarter – Cuk converted a man up for 5:4. But, Hannover equalized quickly after – Matija Brguljan found the net from an extra player shot for 5:5. From that point on, the game was an exchange of goals. Spandau took the lead twice (6:5, 7:6), but Hannover equalized on both occasions. Spandau’s Nikola Dedovic scored an action goal to put the hosts one more – 8:7 with 03:14 minutes remaining on the clock. Hannover couldn’t answer after this goal, and the home side kept a minimal advantage until the last buzzer.
The other match of the last round, ASC Duisburg – OSC Potsdam offered a lot of thrills, too. At halftime, Duisburg had a 9:6 advantage. But, Potsdam, opened the second half excellently – with six goals in a row to earn a 12:9 lead (26th minute). In the 28th minute, Reibel ended Duisburg’s goalless phase, which lasted 12 minutes, for 10:12. Two minutes later, Tanaskovic cut the deficit to one (11:12), but Duisburg couldn’t go further. Potsdam managed to keep a 12:11 advantage and won three points.
The 2nd tournament will be played in Hannover. After that, the semifinals of the playoffs will start.
