The French League has continued with the matches of the 14th round.
Two derbies have been scheduled for this round.
One of the two was played in Aix-en-Provence this weekend. Strasbourg defeated Pays d’Aix narrowly (12:11). The other derby, Tourcoing – Marseille, has been rescheduled for Wednesday.

Strasbourg opened the match in Aix-en-Provence with a 3:0 lead. Pays d’Aix managed to recover from a bad start. By the end of the first quarter, the hosts leveled at 4:4. A minute before the middle break, Pays d’Aix caught up with Strasbourg once more (7:7). But, after that, the home team was goalless for almost eight minutes. Strasburg took control, scoring four unanswered goals for an 11:7 lead. Before the final quarter, three goals separated the rivals (12:9). Pays d’Aix attempted to come back. The hosts cut the deficit to one goal (11:12) a minute and 39 seconds before the end. But, Strasbourg managed to keep the minimal advantage and the three points.
Even 31 goals were scored in an encounter between Noisy-le-Sec and Sete. Noisy dictated the pace throughout the match. In the middle of the second period, Noisy built a 4-goal lead for the first time (7:3). Sete halved the deficit (6:8), but Noisy responded with a 3:0 run. It jumped to 11:6 (19th minute). After that, the Parisians’ win wasn’t in danger.
Montpellier earned a very important away win over Douai. The three points won in this match may be crucial in Montpellier’s efforts to reach the playoffs. Everything in this match was decided before the final quarter. At halftime, Montpellier led 6:2. The visitors opened the third period with two straight goals. They went to 8:2 and there was no way back for Douai.
The top six teams will qualify for the playoffs. Montpellier shares 5th and 6th place with Pays d’Aix. Each team has won 18 points. Douai is in 7th place with 12 points. All three teams have played 12 games so far.
Nice beat Reims, and moved from last place in the standings.
Next weekend, the 13th round will be held.
