Total Player 2022 by David Martin

December 16, 2022

Spain has achieved great results under David Martin’s guidance. In 2018, the Spaniards clinched the silver at the European Championships. They played in the final of the 2019 World Championships. That was the first medal for Spain at the World Championships after 2009, when David Martin was a national team player.

In 2020, Spain took another European silver.

Still, this year was something special for the Spaniards. “La Furia Roja” is the only team that won a medal at each competition in 2022. After becoming the world champion in Budapest, Spain clinched bronze medals in the World League and the European Championships.

David Martin‘s Top 5 of 2022

Di Fulvio540x540

1. Francesco di Fulvio (ITA)

Italian National Team Player. Club: Pro Recco. Position: Driver

Di Fulvio is a player who has shown a very high level throughout the season. He won all the titles with Recco and was the leader of Italy in all competitions this summer.

2. Alvaro Granados (ESP)

Spanish National Team Player. Clubs: Barceloneta/Novi Beograd. Position: Driver

Like di Fulvio, he played very well all the clubs' season with Barceloneta, and he showed great determination this summer with Spain
Zalanki540x540

3. Gergő Zalánki (HUN)

Hungarian National Team Player. Club: Pro Recco. Position: Wing

The best left-handed player this season. He was very important for Recco to win the Champions League, and he finished the summer with a great performance for Hungary at the European Championships in Split.
Tahull540x540

4. Roger Tahull (ESP)

Spanish National Team Player. Club: Barcelona/Barceloneta. Position: Centre-forward

In my opinion, Tahull was the best centre this summer. He showed outstanding performance in all competitions with Spain.

Italian National Team Player. Club: Brescia. Position: All-round/h4> Di Somma is the player that every coach would like to have on his team. He is a key player for Brescia and Italy. Di Somma can play in all positions
