The Serbian Women’s national team is currently under the direction of Dragana Ivkovic.
Ivkovic has been involved with the work of the Serbian national team for a few years, shortly after retiring from water polo.
As a player, Ivkovic participated in a variety of clubs, including those in Turkey, the Netherlands, and her native Crvena Zvezda. She also had a successful national team career, having played there since 2004 and assuming the role of captain in 2009.
In addition to being the head coach of the national team, Dragana is also the head coach of Crvena Zvezda.
Dragana Ivkovic’s Top 5 of 2022

1. Eleftheria Plevritou (GRE)
Greek National Team Player/Club: Olympiacos /Position: Wing
I have followed her playing since she was 12 years old, a very useful player with courage to take over in critical moments of the match. I really like her playing in Split. Maybe the best right side player and right handed player at the same time. She had great games and results with her club as well.
2. Maica Garcia (ESP)
Spain National Team Player/Club: Sabadell / Position: Centrre-Forward
For sure, with her colleague from national team Paula, one of the players who gave an excellent rhythm to Spain team in Split, and with that gave them an opportunity for gold. Excellent centre.
3. Laura Aarts (NED)
Netherlands National Team Player/Club: Dunaujvaros/ Position: Goalkeeper
Even if they didn’t manage to win the medal in the last competition of the season she was still for me the best goalkeeper in the competition. Which is as well supported by the statistic. For sure she had a very big role in winning the bronze medal in the match against Italy, when she received just one goal in the second half.
4. Sofia Giustini (ITA)
Italy National Team Player/Club: SIS Roma/ Position: Driver
One of the motors in the Italian team and SIS Roma, and still 19 years old. She had a big role scoring 4 goals in the bronze medal match against Nederland. She was in the top five scorers of the tournament in Split.
