Since our first award, Elvis Fatovic has been a member of Total Watepoloβs jury. But, this year, he is here in a new role.
Between 2013 and 2021, Fatovic coached Australia. After the Tokyo Olympics, he returned to Europe. Elvis Fatovic, who won two Champions League playing for Jug (2001, 2006), and several medals representing Croatia, including European silver in 2003, has been Barcelonetaβs coach since the last year.
Last season, the best Spanish club won all titles in the domestic stage and 5th place in the Champions League.
Elvis Fatovicβs Top 5 of 2022
“I picked these five players, but some others can be among the top five: Gergo Zalanki, who scored all crucial goals for Pro Recco at the Final Eight and won the European silver with Hungary, Angelos Vlachopoulos, a few more members of the Spanish national team…β

1. Felipe Perrone (ESP)
Spanish National Team Player. Club: Barceloneta. Position: Driver
Perrone is the brain of Barceloneta and Spain, the only national team that won medals at all summer competitions in 2022.
2. Francesco Di Fulvio (ITA)
Italian National Team Player. Club: Pro Recco. Position: Drive
The best attacker in todayβs water polo, he led Pro Recco and Italy.
3. Marko Bijac (CRO)
Croatian National Team Player. Club: Olympiacos. Position: Goalkeeper
Bijac had an incredible performance at the European Championships.
4. Aaron Younger (AUS)
Australian National Team Player. Club: Pro Recco. Position: Driver
Younger was, in my opinion, Pro Reccoβs most consistent player at the Final Eight in Belgrade.
