Total Player 2022 by Szilárd Jansik

December 15, 2022

Szilard Jansik has won two medals at the European Championships playing for Hungary.

Both medals have unique places in his treasury. The first one – gold was won in front of the home crowd in Budapest in 2020.

This year, Hungary clinched the silver medal at the Europeans in Split. But, this time, Jansik was a captain of the national team for the first time. He wasn’t only a captain but a true leader of a rejuvenated Hungarian team, which managed to recover from a 7th-place finish at the World Championships. Jansik was voted the MVP of the European Championships in Split.

Besides two European medals, some of Jansik’s most significant successes so far are Olympic bronze, and many trophies with Ferencvaros, the club he has played for since 2014. Playing for “Fradi”, Jansik won the Champions League in 2019, LEN Euro Cup, LEN Super Cups, domestic trophies, etc.

Szilárd Jansik‘s Top 5 of 2022

Vogel540x540

1. Soma Vogel (HUN)

Hungary National Team Player. Club: Ferencvaros. Position: Goalkeeper

Soma was amazing throughout the whole season. We have a lot to thank him for providing a stable defence either for FTC or for Hungary. He was playing exceptionally well during the European Championship. Without him, we wouldn't have been able to make it to the final.
Perrone540x540

2. Felipe Perrone (ESP)

Spanish National Team Player. Club: Barceloneta. Position: Driver.

It is not a question of why he is on the list. Felipe was the MVP of the World Championship, where he led Spain to the top.
Bijac540x540

3. Marko Bijac (CRO)

Croatia National Team Player. Club: Olympiacos . Position: Goalkeeper

It was almost impossible to score a goal against him in the European Championship final in Split. The credit goes to Bijac for making it possible for Croatia to win a gold medal in front of their home crowd.
Di Fulvio540x540

4. Francesco di Fulvio (ITA)

Italian National Team Player. Club: Pro Recco. Position: Driver.

He won everything with Pro Recco, and I think he was Italy's best player this year. He was a key player and a leader for both teams – Pro Recco and Italy.
Granados540x540

5. Alvaro Granados (ESP)

Spanish National Team Player. Clubs: Barceloneta/Novi Beograd. Position: Driver/h4> Granados was a true goal-getter this year. He is a real strength of the Spanish national team. He proved he could score four or five goals at any time.
