Eva Doudesis is the head coach of the Netherlands women’s national team.
The former Greek international initially joined the Polar Bears menβs team as a player, but was quickly elevated to head coach of the entire womenβs section in Ede. As the womenβs head coach, he led the Ede Polar Bears from last place in the Eredivisie to the league title in 2018.
Due to his unprecedented success, he was appointed as the assistant coach of the Netherlands womenβs national team, as well as the junior national teams, in 2017. After the Tokyo Olympics, he was finally given the opportunity to take over as head coach of the womenβs national team, guiding the Netherlands to a bronze medal finish at this yearβs World Championships.
“It’s always difficult to choose the best between so many great players.” Doudesis said. “Ruiz, Banceli, Leiton, Kearns, Roemer, Hajdu Kata and Xenaki were great this season.”
“The biggest qualities of my top5: Consistency and experience.” he added.Β
