Total Player 2023 by Nikola Jaksic

November 15, 2023

After a disappointing summer of 2022, the national team of Serbia returned to the circle of the best teams in the world.

The Serbs finished 7th in the World Cup and 4th at the World Championships in Fukuoka, thus qualifying for the upcoming Worlds in Doha.

Double Olympic champion Nikola Jaksic led Serbia as a new captain. This year, he clinched another medal in the Champions League, winning silver with Novi Beograd. It was his fourth Champions League final in a row (two with Ferencvaros and two with Novi Beograd).

In Jaksic’s opinion, his two former teammates from Ferencvaros deserve the top two spots for 2023. Both contributed significantly to the gold medal that Hungary won in Fukuoka.
