Alessandro Campagna has achieved the rare distinction of winning Olympic medals both as a player and as a coach in the water polo world.
He won the Olympic gold in Barcelona in 1992, in addition to a European title in 1993 and a World title in 1994.
As a coach, he led Italy to a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games and a bronze medal in Rio four years later, as well as two gold medals at the World Championships in 2009 and 2019.
