The coronavirus spread continued to affect sporting events all across the world.
Ferencvaros, the European champion, announced that LEN had postponed the Champions League match Ferencvaros – Pro Recco, that was scheduled for March 3rd in Budapest.
In the short statement, the club didn’t explain the reasons for postponing but it’s clear that the reason is prevention. Pro Recco is a club based in northern Italy, which is hard hit by the coronavirus.
A new date hasn’t been determined yet.
There is a possibility that a few more matches on the European stage will be postponed. On March 4th, Eger should host Brescia in the LEN Euro Cup semifinals. Eger’s match in the national league, that had been scheduled for Wednesday was already postponed.
