Olympic bronze medalist Anna Illes has announced her retirement.
The 29-year-old finished her career with FTC in their 12-8 win over UVSE in Hungarian Championship bronze medal match. Throughout her professional career, Illes remained loyal to the capital, representing BVSC before transitioning to Ferencvaros, where she spent four seasons.
Undoubtedly, the highlight of Illes' career rests within her achievements at the international stage. She played an instrumental role in guiding her national team to their first-ever Olympic medal at the Tokyo Games, and was part of the team that won gold at the 2016 European Championships in Belgrade.
