Serbia’s center-forward Nemanja Ubovic will continue his career in Greece.
After two years at Ferencvaros, Ubovic will leave the Hungarian champion, and he is close to signing a contract with Vouliagmeni, which achieved excellent results this season and qualified for the Final Eight.
The Greek Championship is the only of the top European leagues in which Ubovic hasn’t played yet.
He made his first water polo steps at VK Beograd. After that, Ubovic played for Vojvodina, Barceloneta, Brescia, OSC Budapest, Sabadell, and Ferencvaros.
Ubovic won the Champions League with Barceloneta and the LEN Euro Cup with Brescia.
Playing for the senior national team of Serbia, Ubovic clinched bronze at the 2017 World Championships, gold medals at the 2014 World Cup and 2018 Mediterranean Games. Recently, he was called-up for the national team again, and played in the World Cup Division 1.
The latest information indicates that there will be no significant changes to Vouliagmeni’s roster. It’s almost certain that Greek center-forward Dimitrios Nikolaidis will move to Olympiacos.
As for Ferencvaros, the foreigners in the next season will be Stylianos Argyropoulos, Daniil Merkulov, Luca Damonte, who will stay at the club, and Edoardo Di Somma, who should join "Fradi" from Brescia.
