Carlo Silipo is the head coach of the Italian women’s national team.
Silipo, a three-time Olympian from 1992, 1996, and 2004 (winning gold in 1992 in Barcelona), is a legendary figure in Italian water polo, and he is now attempting to leave his mark as a coach with the Setterosa.
After Italy failed to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics, Silipo was named head coach after achieving great success with the junior national team.
In his first major tournament with Italy, he led them to a fourth-place finish at the World Championships, followed by a bronze medal at the European Championships in Split, ending Italy’s six-year medal drought.
