Total Player 2022 by Christian Presciutti

December 2, 2022

Brescia has been one of the most successful European clubs in the last several years and has progressed from season to season.

It was the second-best Italian club for years. In 2021, it finally ended Pro Recco’s domination and won the Italian Championships. In the same season, Brescia made the best-ever result in the Champions League, winning the bronze medal. A year after, it reached the semifinals for the second time in a row and finished 4th.

Christian Presciutti led Brescia as the captain toward these historical successes. He has played for Brescia since 2009 and has a European trophy in his treasury – the Euro Cup won in 2016. Representing Italy, Presciutti clinched two Olympic medals (silver in 2012 and bronze in 2016), a world title (2011), etc.

Christian Presciutti’s Top 5 of 2022

1.Angelos Vlachopoulos (GRE)

Greek National Team Player. Club: Novi Beograd. Position: Driver

Vlachopoulos is a born leader. He led Novi Beograd to the Champions League final, where they lost only after a penalty shootout. He proved his leadership skills in Greece's national team, too. The best player at the moment.

2. Felipe Perrone (ESP)

Spanish National Team Player. Club: Barceloneta. Position: Driver

A true soul of Barceloneta and Spain. He has an extraordinary game vision. He led a renewed team of Barceloneta to a great Final Eight tournament. He was a great protagonist in Spain's victory at the World Championships.

3. Nicholas Presciutti (ITA)

Italian National Team Player. Club: Pro Recco. Position: Defender

It is difficult to find a place for a defender in these rankings. Still, I think that if you have a player like Nicholas Presciutti behind you in the team, you can rest easy. He won everything he could with Pro Recco and was the protagonist in Italy's great summer.
DiSomma540x540

4. Edoardo Di Somma (ITA)

Italian National Team Player. Club: Brescia. Position: All round

Di Somma is a defender with the "vice" of scoring goals. He has improved a lot in the last few seasons. I believe that it will be very difficult to play against him if he continues to progress as he does now. He has an explosive force, and he showed that especially this summer, playing for Italy.
Cannella540x540

5. Giacomo Cannella (ITA)

Italian National Team Player. Club: Pro Recco. Position: Attacker

Cannella is a pure striker. He has great potential and showed some excellent performances in the past season. He matured considerably as a player and played an important role in Pro Recco's and Italy's results.
