In the past several years, Israel didn’t have many successes at the main water polo stage, but the situation changed. Both teams of Israel have developed. The male squad qualified for the European Championships for the first time and made a solid result. They gained experience for the next Europeans that will be held in Tel Aviv.
Tal Grodman, Israel’s head coach, played water polo for more than 20 years. His coaching career has lasted for 23 years because he started working as a coach while he was a player. Grodman played for junior and senior national teams of Israel. In the last few years, he has been a professional manager and coached the senior team of Palram Zvulun, one of the leading clubs in Israel. He took over the Israeli national team in October 2020.
Tal Grodman’s Top 5 of 2022

1. Konstantin Kharkov (CRO)
Croatian National Team Player. Club: Brescia. Position: Left-handed attacker
The most significant reinforcement of the Croatian team that won the European Championship. It is not easy to enter the gap created in the team at his position. Kharkov was there at the most important moments when he was needed and proved how good he was.
2. Thomas Vernoux (FRA)
French National Team Player. Club: Marseille. Position: Centre-forward
The best center at the European championship with excellent abilities. He had a significant contribution to the excellent achievement of the French team in the championship and, of course, also in Marseille. The best about Vernoux-he is very young and is constantly improving and developing
3. Francesco di Fulvio (ITA)
Italian National Team Player. Club: Pro Recco. Position: Driver
An excellent playmaker. At any time, he's in and brings wonderful skills to the water, both in Pro Recco and in the Italian National team. He is a true leader and does everything needed in both defence and offence.
4. Alvaro Granados (ESP)
Spanish National Team Player. Club: Novi Beograd. Position: Driver.
An amazing scorer with fantastic personal abilities. In addition, Granados knows how to do everything beyond his goals and adds value to the Spanish team. He is still young and constantly growing and developing. It will be very interesting to see him in Novi Beograd.
