VLV specialises in menβs water polo, so has not provided votes towards the womenβs award.

Hungarian National Team Player. Club: Ferencvaros. Position: Driver
Captained the Hungarian team at a critical juncture, after the Budapest national team's disastrous defeat at the World Cup at home, and not only did he perform dazzlingly, but he also united and guided his teammates, playing a major role in the Hungarian team's silver medal finish in Split.
3. Francesco di Fulvio (ITA)
Italian National Team Player. Club: Pro Recco. Position: Drive
He continued his outstanding performance of the last years. Member of the all-star team at the Budapest World Cup, leading the Italian team that lost the World Cup final by only five metres, and the driving force behind the CL-winning Pro Recco.
4. Marko Bijac (CRO)
Croatian National Team Player. Club: Olympiacos. Position: Goalkeeper
Best goalkeeper at the European Championship. He gives the defence in front of him a huge sense of security and was instrumental in his team's gold medal in Split
