Zsolt Varga has been successfully coaching Ferencvaros since 2013. He led the team to the European title in 2019, two Euro Cups, and Super Cups. This year, he opened a new chapter in his career.
Varga, the Olympic champion as a player in 2000, took over the Hungarian national team shortly before the European Championships. He managed to „shake” the team after 7th place at the World Championships. The Hungarians won silver at the Europeans in Split.
This season, Varga coaches both Ferencvaros and Hungary. He already won the first trophy in the season – the Hungarian Cup. It was Ferencvaros’ fifth consecutive national cup under Varga’s guidance.
