Martina Miceli, an Italian legend and Olympic Champion, currently serves as the head coach of one of Europe’s most successful women’s clubs, Ekipe Orizzonte.
Her illustrious playing career includes winning an Olympic Gold medal in 2004 with the Setterosa and claiming six other major medals at the World Championships (1998, 2001) and European Championships (1995, 1997, 1999, 2003).
In 2012, Miceli transitioned to coaching, leading her teams to victory and achieving milestones such as bringing the Euro Cup (LEN Trophy) and LEN Supercup back to Catania. Additionally in her coaching career, she has four Italian Championships and four Coppa Italia titles to her name.
Notably, she made history as the first female coach to lift the Women’s Euro Cup, formerly known as the LEN Trophy.
