The highlight of the 12th round of the German League was a local derby in Duisburg.
ASC Duisburg was a favorite against Duisburger, which had yet to earn any points. Despite taking an early lead of 3:0, ASC Duisburg had to fight hard to secure the victory, as Duisburger managed to equalize at 3:3. From that point until 7:7, the teams were in a neck-and-neck race.
ASC netted two goals in the last minute of the second quarter and entered the third period leading 9:7. However, Duisburger didnβt surrender and caught the favorite early in the fourth quarter (10:10), but it couldnβt upset the favorite. ASC won 13:11. Sascha Seifert and Elias Metten both contributed to the ASC Duisburgβs win with three goals. But the best scorer was Dusiburgerβs Djordje Tanaskovic. The player who was raised in Partizanβs water polo school found the net four times.
Waspo Hannover showed no mercy to Neukolln, beating the Berlin-based team 25:4. Four players scored four goals each for Waspo: Nikola Stankovic, Lukas Kuppers, Denis Strelezkij and Nikola Milradovic.
OSC Potsdam defeated White Sharks 10:7. In the middle of the third quarter, White Sharks trailed 5:6. That was followed by OSCβs 3:0 series within a minute and a half. OSC went to 9:5, and White Sharks couldnβt come back.
