This year, Igor Milanovic, one of the best players of all time, returned to a coaching job after a year and a half of pause.
In the middle of the season, Milanovic took Novi Beograd and led the club to the titles in the Regional League and the Serbian Championships. Novi Beograd lost to Pro Recco in the Champions League final after a penalty shootout.
After a sucesful and short mission in Novi Beograd, Milanovic moved to Greece. Since the start of the season he has been coaching Olympiacos, which has high ambitions in all competitions.
Milanovic is one of a few water polo people that won the Champions League (earlier the European Cup) both as a player and a coach. He did it with four different clubs – playing for Mladost Zagreb (1990 and 1991) and Catalunya (1995), and as a head coach of Partizan (2011) and Pro Recco (2015).
