Martinia Miceli is proving that she was not only an extraordinarily talented player, but also is now an outstanding coach.
Miceli played for the Italian national team from 1991 to 2008, while also making significant contributions to numerous clubs, including Italian Orrizonte, which she coaches today.
In addition to her legendary Olympic Gold medal in 2004 with the Setterosa, she won six other major medals during her illustrious active career: at the World Championships (1998, 2001) and European Championships (1995, 1997, 1999, and 2003). In 2012, Miceli transitioned from a remarkable career in the pool to a position as a coach for future water polo stars.
Miceli has returned the LEN Trophy and LEN Supercup to Catania, in addition to three Italian Championships and three Coppa Italia titles. The Italian was the first female coach to lift the LEN Trophy.
