Szilard Jansik has won two medals at the European Championships playing for Hungary.
Both medals have unique places in his treasury. The first one – gold was won in front of the home crowd in Budapest in 2020.
This year, Hungary clinched the silver medal at the Europeans in Split. But, this time, Jansik was a captain of the national team for the first time. He wasn’t only a captain but a true leader of a rejuvenated Hungarian team, which managed to recover from a 7th-place finish at the World Championships. Jansik was voted the MVP of the European Championships in Split.
Besides two European medals, some of Jansik’s most significant successes so far are Olympic bronze, and many trophies with Ferencvaros, the club he has played for since 2014. Playing for “Fradi”, Jansik won the Champions League in 2019, LEN Euro Cup, LEN Super Cups, domestic trophies, etc.
